March 7th – Public Enemy release the special project album “Rebirth Of A Nation” on Paris’ Guerrilla Funk Records, on this day in 2006.

The album was written and produced by legendary Bay Area MC Paris, who also gets a special feature credit alongside Public Enemy on the album’s cover.

The album whose title is a play on the 1915 white supremacist film “The Birth Of A Nation” also featured P.E.’s Professor Griff, MC Ren (formerly of N.W.A.), Sister Souljah, dead prez, Lench Mob member Kam, Immortal Technique and The Conscious Daughters.

Among some of the songs titles on “Rebirth Of A Nation”, whose title was also a play on P.E.’s 1988 classic opus “It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back”, were the digital single “Hell No We Ain’t Alright”, “Can’t Hold Us Back”, “Watch The Door”, “They Call Me Flava”, “Hard Rhymin’” and “Plastic Nation.”
