“America’s Favorite Sheriff” passed away peacefully at 7am this morning at his home in Dare County, North Carolina. A statement from the family says that he was laid to rest on his beloved Roanoke Island. Andy Griffith was best known as Griffith the small-town sheriff of Mayberry in the 1960s TV classic “The Andy Griffith Show” and the television show “Matlock”……..
