Robin Roberts returned to the set of GMA today after being out in medical leave since August 30th. It was her first visit to the show since undergoing a bone marrow transplant in September. In June, 51-year-old Roberts was diagnosed with MDS — or myelodysplastic syndrome — a disease of the blood and bone marrow. Robin Roberts is also a breast cancer survivor who celebrated the crucial 100-day benchmark last month from her bone marrow transplant to treat the MDS. Robin’s sister Sally Ann donated cells for the transplant which was a five-minute procedure in which the donor cells were injected into Robin’s system through a syringe. Doctors will be monitoring Robin’s progress as they allow her to do some dry runs on the show to see how her body will react before rejoining the cast fully. Let’s keep her in prayer as she continue to recover and hopefully make a full comeback on GMA soon.
