Today marks the 13th annual National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day where the African-American community is encouraged to get educated, get tested, get involved, and get treated. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Black Americans accounted for 44% of all new HIV cases in 2009. 3 in 5 African-Americans know someone living with HIV or who has died of AIDS.
