UPDATE — 11:03 PM EST:

In an exclusive CBS interview, LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck has announced that he is reopening the case that led to Dorner’s firing. Beck made it clear that he is not doing this to appease Dorner, rather to reaffirm the public’s faith in the LAPD. According to Beck, 50 members of the LAPD and their families are under protection in response to Dorner’s threats.

As a massive manhunt for murder suspect and cop-killer Christopher Dorner continues, LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck has denounced his riveting manifesto as false and “self-serving”:

“This is a homicide suspect who has committed atrocious crimes. If you want to give any attribution to his ramblings on the Internet, go ahead, but I do not, Beck said.”

When asked about the case that ultimately led to Dorner’s firing, the alleged kicking of a schizophrenic man by a fellow officer that he reported, Beck had this to say:

“That case was thoroughly adjudicated. It went through several levels of review up to the point where even a civilian representative listened to the entirety of the case. You will find Dorner’s statements to be self-serving and the statements of somebody who was extremely unhappy in his lot in life,” Beck said.

See news report below:

Dorner details specific instances of racism and corruption within the LAPD. To “clear his name” and seek retribution for being fired, Dorner is targeting the significant others and children of police officers whom he claims are perpetuating the system of cover-up, brutality and lies:

The LAPD’s actions have cost me my law enforcement career,” he said. “They cost my naval career. … I’ve lost my relationship with my mother and sister because of the LAPD. I’ve lost a relationship with close friends because of the LAPD. In essence, I’ve lost everything because the LAPD took my name and new (sic) I was INNOCENT!!!

[…]

Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That’s what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name.

[…]

I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own, I’m terminating yours. Quan, Anderson, Evans, and BOR members Look your wives/husbands and surviving children directly in the face and tell them the truth as to why your children are dead.

[…]

No amount of IMINT, MASINT, and ELINT assist you in capturing me. I am off the grid. You better use your feet, tongue and every available DOD/ NON-DOD HUMINT agency, contractor to find me. I know your route to and from home, and your division. I know your significant others routine, your children’s best friends and recess. I know Your Sancha’s gym hours and routine. I assure you that the casualty rate will be high. Because of that, no one will remember your name. You will merely be a DR# and “that guy” who was KIA/EOW or long term IOD/light duty in the kit room. This is exactly why “station 500″ was created. Unfortunately, orphanages will be making a comeback in the 21st century.

Since actor Charlie Sheen was mentioned in murder suspect and cop-killer Christopher Dorner‘s rambling manifesto claiming systemic corruption and racism within the ranks of the LAPD, he recorded a message to the former officer asking him to call him so that they could figure out “how to end this thing.”

Dorner is suspected of killing Monica Quan, 28, and her 27-year-old fiance, Keith Lawrence, to exact vengeance against Quan’s father, Randy Quan, of whom he wrote:

Never allow a LAPPL union attorney to be a retired LAPD Captain,(Quan). He doesn’t work for you, your interest, or your name. He works for the department, period. His job is to protect the department from civil lawsuits being filed and their best interest which is the almighty dollar. His loyalty is to the department, not his client. Even when he knowingly knows your innocent and the BOR also knows your innocent after Christopher Gettler stated on videotape that he was kicked and Evans attorney confessed to the BOR off the record that she kicked Gettler.

Dorner has also allegedly killed one Riverside, CA police officer and injured two others.
