Tim Pernetti, the Athletic Director for Rutgers University, has resigned after the firing of Men’s Basketball Coach, Mike Rice. Mike Rice was videotaped berating players, using homophobic slurs and throwing basketballs at players. Pernetti was informed about Rice’s abuse allegations four months ago and announced Rice’s suspension but not termination. Former Assistant Coach, Eric Murdock, who filmed Coach Rice’s abuse, has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit after he was fired for criticizing Rice’s behavior. Jimmy Martelli, another assistant coach under Rice, has also resigned.
