The 2nd Saturdays series is an initiative developed by the North Carolina Department of Culture and Resources to provide statewide affordable fun, cultural appreciation, and learning experiences for families.

The North Carolina Museum of History will feature two free programs on July 13, 2013 from noon to 3pm. Bob Meier, owner and operator of Doe Ridge Pottery, will give live demonstrations of  contemporary pottery crafting on a clay wheel. There will be a drop-in program, Make it, Take it: Clay Creations, that will allow children to make their own clay art.

The NC Museum of History will also provide free admission to the exhibition Art in Clay: Masterworks of North Carolina Earthenware. The exhibit showcases about 200 pieces and honors the achievements of 18th and 19th century earthenware potters.

Weekend parking is free!

Make sure you take advantage of the great events in the Triangle that promote affordable family fun!
