Yesterday I was able to take part in a panel discussion over on Huffington Post Live as a part of their Celebrating Black Fathers series. During the discussion I was able to give some insight into my life as a single father. I spoke about the challenges that I have faced as a father who was determined to be involved in my child’s life.
I was joined on the panel by Kenrya Rankin Naasel, editor of the new book ’Bet On Black,’ and author Nick Chiles who writes about his perspective on parenting in the book”Fatherhood: Rising to the Ultimate Challenge”. This brief discussion was a way for us to break down some of the stereotypes about fatherhood that black men face.
