Beyoncé and Jay Z sold out arenas all around the world with their On The Run Tour, but they couldn’t get people to tune last Saturday night.

According to TV By The Numbers, less the 1 million people were watching when On The Run debuted September 20 on HBO. In fact, only 888,000 members of the Beyhive tuned in for the 9 p.m. premiere.

With those numbers, a rerun of “Law & Order: SVU” beat the Carters with 1.46 million viewers plus in the same timeslot. More than 2.2 million people were watching a rerun of “The Big Bang Theory.”

Some outlets are categorizing this as a certified flip for Bey and Jay, but it should be noted that this total does not take into account how many people watched On The Run when it aired in a 24-hour marathon on HBO Zone. We’re confident that Beyoncé and Jay Z’s show did much better on that channel.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé probably isn’t too worried about the numbers they did on HBO right now because she’s already moved on to promoting her new 2015 calendar. Besides, Beyoncé and Jay Z still get to be Beyoncé and Jay Z, so they’re winning at life by default.
