Joey Bada$$ is set to continue his tour in New Zealand despite his troubles with the law, according to Billboard. He has also entered a not guilty plea after being arrested for what officials said was a fight with a security guard at a music festival.
“Joey can confirm that there was a misunderstanding with security at the Byron Falls Festival show, which resulted in charges being laid,” Bradley Bledsoe, a Bada$$ rep, said in a statement to Billboard. “After fully cooperating with police, Joey was granted bail and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.”
Joey is set to perform in Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand’s Wellington and Auckland as part of this tour.
Bada$$ won’t have to be in court for his next scheduled court date on March 19. He can be represented by a lawyer and is free to travel back to the States, according to the report. The rapper’s B4.Da.$$ album is due January 20.
