Sources say that the two children found dead in a freezer in Detroit home may have been dead for years.

Michelle Blair, 35, has been identified as the children’s mother. She has since admitted to killing her children and was taken into police custody.

The kids were discovered by a court bailiff who originally went to the home to carry out an eviction.

The surviving children, an 11-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter, were placed in protective custody, following the incident’s discovery.

Blair confessed to killing son in May of 2012. The cause of death was strangulation. She also admitted to torturing her daughter before killing her 9 months later.

The deceased boy would have been 11-years-old while the girl would have been 14-years-of-age.

Blair blamed the incident on the lewd acts they performed on her youngest son. She claims to have. caught the boy sexually assaulting her youngest. She later found out her daughter was guilty of engaging in the same behavior.

A neighbor, Tori Childs, confirms she was told that same story by Blair, just before the arrest. Childs told 7 Action News, she wanted to save the kids but was unaware they were dead for some time.

Blair has not yet received charges. However, according to law enforcement, assigned to the case, she is scheduled to undergo a mental competency examination soon.

Sources say the Wayne County Medical Examiner is thawing out the bodies in order to perform an autopsy. This will determine the cause of death to validate the mother’s story is true.
