The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, presented by Duke Cancer Institute, was rescheduled due to the inclement weather and will be held THIS Saturday, October 17th, at North Hills (Six Forks Rd & Beltline).

Registration for this noncompetitive, inspirational event begins at 8:00 a.m., with the walk set to start at 9:00 a.m.  Registration to join the walk is free.

Since 1993, more than 11 million supporters have raised more than $685 million nationwide.   Last year in the Triangle, nearly 2,500 walked raising $249,000. In North Carolina alone, it is estimated that 9,712 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed with 1,412 women losing their battle to the disease.
