Golden State Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr has been named the 2015-16 NBA Coach of the Year. Kerr, in his second season with the Warriors, formally coached just 39 games this season due to health issues, guiding the Warriors to a 34-5 record during that span. He did, however, spend much time with the team during his absence from the bench. The Warriors finished the season with an NBA- record 73 wins, making it difficult to not give the honor to the team’s head coach. Kerr’s regular season record as an NBA head coach is 101-20. This is Kerr’s first time receiving the award.
