A 17 year old male Gorilla  is now dead after coming in to contact with a four year old boy who fell into the Gorilla’s exhibit at a Cincinnati zoo. According to reports, the child got away from his mother, crawled under a fence then, took one false step and fell into the Gorilla’s moat. Zookeepers evacuated the Gorillas; the females proceeded to exit but the male stayed. Check out the details and video below.

According to Bossip:

A Gorilla was put down today in Cincinnati after a 4-year-old boy fell into a zoo exhibit. The boy was with his mom who was tending to a group of children right before falling into stream that was a part of the gorilla’s habitat, according to WLWT. A witness said the boy kept asking his mom to “get into the water” before he fell in.

It’s been reported by WLWT Cincinnati that the boy was alert but sustained serious injuries after his attack. The zoo was unable to tranquilize the animal because it would have taken too long to set in. Instead, they had to shoot him.
