Tuesday was a big day in Hollywood, 34 new honorees got inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most notable and prized awards that an entertainer could receive. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chose from many nominations and on Tuesday they announced the whole class of 2017 of the Walk of Fame.

Although Tuesday was a big day for all 34 inductees, Queen of Gospel Shirley Caesar had her unveiling ceremony for her star. Caesar was joined by other renowned gospel singers Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin, who both spoke at the ceremony. CEO/President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Leon Gubler, announced that yesterday was Shirley Caesar day in Hollywood.

Pastor Caesar was full of joy on Tuesday. Not only was that the day she received such a high honor, but it was also the day she celebrated 50 years as a solo gospel artist. Caesar said “I honor the Lord for this wonderful privilege….I feel as if I’m in a beautiful fairytale. Who wouldn’t serve a God like this? One who keeps blessing and showing you that your latter can be greater than your former. Been through the storm and the rain, but it’s alright, it’s ok. I made it!”

The ceremony was held in front of the Fonda Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Just before Caesar’s unveiling, the committee announced the rest of the 2017 class which was actor and former WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Mexican-American singer Selena Quintanilla, model and television personality Tyra Banks, and rapper and actor Ice Cube. These are just some of the many who received this honor last night.
