Kanye West is being sued for $2.5 million over sampling “The Girl With Pearls In Her Hair,” a track made in 1969 by a Hungarian producer, Gabor Presser. West allegedly used 85 seconds of the song illegally in the new hit song “New Slaves.” Presser did not give West the proper permission to use the sample and only received $700 for it which he did not agree upon. West and his lawyers say that they tried to settle this dispute before the Yeezus album was released but could not reach an agreement. The West team even tried to give Presser $10,000 which again, Presser did not agree to. The album was released anyway and not West may be in trouble! The trial is set to start on May 15 in Los Angeles.
