Jay-Z is continuing to follow his new path as a film producer. AFter co-producing the Time: The Kalief Browder Story earlier this year Jay is now preparing to bring the story of another young black man to the screen. Along with his partners at The Weinstein Company Jay will produce a film and a documentary series about the life of Trayvon Martin.

Jay’s production company has acquired the rights to two books on which the film and TV series will be based on.

“Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It,” a firsthand account of Zimmerman’s trial by NBC’s Lisa Bloom; and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin,” a biography written by Trayvon’s parents.

There is no word on when either of these projects will be released.
