BET is planning on following up their successful New Edition Story with plans to bring the tale of Death Row Records to the small screen. The network has started producing Death Row Chronicles which will be part true crime murder mystery and part hip hop drama. According to Billboard the series will have six one-hour episodes that will “provide an unvarnished look at the rise, fall and musical/cultural legacy of the indie label powerhouse.”

The show will feature stories about artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, 2Pac, Tha Dogg Pound and Suge Knight. The film will begin production this spring and will debut in 2018.
