Former NFL star Mike Vick is backtracking on the comments that he made about Colin Kaepernick. If you missed it, Vick said that Kap should cut his afro in order to look more presentable to NFL owners. He now says that he should have used a better choice of words when addressing the situation.

Social media went into an uproar after the comments and really attacked Vick for attempting to throw Kap under the bus. He has released a statement about his comments:

“Obviously, we all know his afro has nothing to do with him being signed, and I wasn’t trying to relay that message. It was just more so about helping him at the end of the day,” Vick told the “Dan Patrick Show” on Thursday. Vick says he’s always been a Kaepernick supporter and is “truly sorry for what I said.”
