A family court judge has decided that a guardian ad litem needs to weigh in on who is most suitable to raise the child of Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez. A guardian ad litem is an attorney who will represent the best interest of the child and examine the lives of both parents before making a recommendation of custody to the judge.
The guardian ad litem will be responsible for checking any legal, medical, or social service records related to the family. She will also order the parents to be tested for drugs since both Joseline and Stevie have accused each other of being cocaine users.
