In some news going viral that probably will and won’t surprise you, a Georgia Police Officer was caught telling a white woman that he pulled over who feared for her life, “Remember, we only kill black people.”
A dashcam video shows a white woman scared to reach for her cell phone because of recent murders of unarmed citizens by police, and Lt. Greg Abbott’s response, “But you’re not black. We only kill black people, right?,” has many shocked.
Lt. Abbott is currently on administrative leave and an investigation is pending, but his lawyers claim that he was just trying to de-escalate the situation:
He was attempting to de-escalate a situation involving an uncooperative passenger. In context, his comments were clearly aimed at attempting to gain compliance by using the passenger’s own statements and reasoning to avoid making an arrest.”
