With the introduction of YouTube Red, the company has been doing a little more dabbling into the movie scene. Well, they’ve just acquired the rights to Eminem’s hip hop film, Bodied.

The film, produced by the iconic rapper, follows a grad student turned underground rapper and his journey as he navigates in Oakland. When you looked at the film’s poster, you probably had to do a double take like me, but yes that is Charlamagne Tha God. The film features many appearances from famed battle rappers like Kid Twist and Dizaster, as well.

In September the movie won the Grolsch People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Bodied also took home several audience awards when entered into the AFI Fest and Fantastic Fest, so I have the feeling that this one is gonna be good!
YouTube will be giving us a sneak peak at the Sundance Film Festival, on Jan. 21st, but the movie isn’t set to hit theaters until next year. Oh and of course you will be able to watch it on YouTube Red, as well. So, are y’all here for Em’s new movie, Live Squad?
