While talking with Ebony about his new book, “Racism From The Eyes Of A Child,” Matthew Knowles made some controversial comments that have the Beyhive at arms!
Daddy Knowles said he believes having light skin contributed to the success of not just Beyonce, but both of his singer daughters. he says, “When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids.”
Now, we know there has been a lot of talk surrounding colorism and whether or not it affects those with darker or lighter skin. Cardi B and Amara La Negra have also been recently vocal about skin tone and its outlook in Hollywood.
Its not hard to recognize that there aren’t many artists that look like Lauryn Hill and Pattie LaBelle, in today’s top music charts, but does that mean Matthew Knowles has a point? What do you all think, Live Squad?
