It has been six years since the killing of Trayvon Martin and the events that took place, which sparked the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Jay-Z has now teamed up with Paramount Network to document Trayvon’s truth, with “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.” On Monday, Paramount released the upcoming docuseries’ first 26-second trailer.
The Jay-Z production will not just tell the tragic story of the 17-year-old’s murder, at the hands of George Zimmerman. Yet, it will tell the bigger story of how race, power, politics, money, and the American judicial system all heavily contributed to the events that took place.
The 6-episode docuseries is based off of “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which was co-written by the victim’s parents. Are you all planning to support this docuseries, Live Squad? I sure am!
