Last Fall, the chilling story of Cyntoia Brown went viral after a documentary called “Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story” resurfaced. Ti documented how Brown was arrested and tries as an adult for murder at just 16 years old for shooting and killing the man who used her as a sex slave. Cyntoia received a 60-year sentence and isn’t eligible for parole until 51 years hav been served.
Last week it was announced that Brown was granted a clemency hearing for her case on May 23rd which means she could be set free! According to The Tennessean, Brown’s petition will be heard in front of the state Board of Probation and Parole, who will then determine whether or not she will be released from the Tennessee Prison for women.
