UPDATE! Yesterday we told you about a young lady that was escorted out of her college class at the University of Texas f(UT) for putting her foot on the chair in front of her. Well, the professor who called the police has been suspended.

UT’s president, Gregory L. Fenves sent an email to faculty members and students confirming that biology professor Anita Moss was suspended. He also stated that there are two investigations about the incident were underway. Very interesting.

Below is yesterday’s story.

Even though you are black, you would think that you wouldn’t have the police called on you while you’re sitting in your college class, but nope. Monday, a black college student was escorted out of class because she put her feet up on the seat in front of her at the University of Texas (UT).

It seems that the professor called the police on the student because she said that the class was being uncivil. Some of the students feel that the professor’s feelings were here hurt because several students had been on their phones. But to call the police? Really? The young lady who was escorted out of class also posted on Twitter about the incident.

The university is investigating the incident. Tuesday, officials issued a statement via social media. “We are concerned by what the video shows and have initiated multiple investigations into the matter. We recognize the importance of promptly gathering the facts and being transparent in the outcomes.”

“This concerns me greatly, and it’s incumbent upon us as an institution to face this head-on. It’s something that we need to address immediately as a university community,” UTSA President Taylor Eighmy said in a statement to the student body.

Let’s see what happens. So is there anywhere that people of color are safe?
