Although we have to wait until January 23rd to find out if Black Panther has been nominated for best picture, we can celebrate that Kevin Hart has been chosen to be the host of the 2019 Academy Awards!
Hart is the 5th African American to host the Oscars! Chris Rock (2005,2016), Whoopi Goldberg (1994,1996,1999,2002), Richard Pryor (1977) and Diana Ross (1974). He posted on Instagram about accepting the job.
How AWESOME is that! He should do a great job and we should laugh a lot. If the Academy lets him have free range, we’ll be on the floor the whole show! We’ll see on February 24, 2019. The Oscars will air on ABC.
