Say What? The United States may be taking a turn after considering the vote of #Georgetown students to include slavery reparations fees in their tuition!

The National School Walkout, a 17 minute walkout by students

The undergraduate students at #GeorgetownUniversity in Washington will vote this month on whether they will have a $27.20 per semester fee for  “reconciliation contribution” funds. If the vote favors the students, the funds will go towards projects in under privileged communities.

“The university will carefully review the results of the referendum and regardless of the outcome, will remain committed to engaging with students, Descendants, and the broader Georgetown community and addressing its historical relationship to slavery” says Georgetown in a statement.

The black community may get their 40 acres and a mule y’all! But on a lighter note, we hope the vote is in favor of the students who generously sought to give back in lou of this day and time our society is in.
