Through social media, singer #Ciara announced that she had been selected to host the fifth annual Sports Humanitarian Award hosted by ESPN. The awards ceremony will celebrate the impact made by athletes, teams and sports professionals who make a huge difference in the world.
Ciara stated “My family and I have witnessed first hand the positive impact humanitarian efforts can have locally and globally. I am honored to celebrate athletes who are using their platforms to inspire, motivate and empower”.
This year, the nominees range from #ReggieBullock, #ChrisLong and other members from the NHL, MLS and MLB organizations. The proceeds will be given to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. So far, $7.5 million dollars has been donated to the community from the Sports Humanitarian Awards.
