Comedian Tiffany Haddish has decided to cancel upcoming shows scheduled in Georgia due to the state’s abortion policy. Haddish has decided to become the latest celebrity to take a stand after the state passed the “heartbeat bill” which places major restrictions on when women can have abortions. Legislators passed the bill last month which makes abortions illegal as soon as the embryonic or fetal heartbeat is detected, and is expected to go into effect on January 1st.

The show was scheduled to happen at Atlanta’s Fox Theater.

In a statement Haddish said:

“After much deliberation, I am postponing my upcoming show in Atlanta. I love the state of Georgia, but I need to stand with women and until they withdraw Measure HB481, I cannot in good faith perform there.”
