Cyntoia Brown was released from prison early this morning after Tennessee governor Bill Haslam granted her clemency.
If you recall, she was initially sentenced to life in prison for killing a man who bought her for sex when she was 16. #Cyntoia was released to parole supervision after spending more than a decade being jailed.
This case pretty much went viral and drew the attention of high-profile advocates lawmakers and A-list celebrities and even prompted a documentary. We are happy to hear the news of this release and look forward to witnessing her life after prison.
