BuzzFeed announced the sale of Complex to the Ntwrk e-commerce company on Wednesday. The media group also announced that they would be initiating a new round of employee layoffs in conjunction with the deal.

Warner Music's CEO Robert Kyncl sent out an internal memo informing the staff that the company was going to layoff 600 of its employees, severing their ties with digital brands such as Uproxx and HipHopDX.

Vaunted digital music publication 'Pitchfork' is now merging with 'GQ' Magazine, and numerous Pitchfork employees including its editor-in-chief were laid off on Wednesday.

How this will help the company, which has developed a reputation for passing off bootleg sneakers as "authentic" over the years is anyone's guess.
