A variety of rappers are paying homage to the late Big Pun, who died 11-years ago today (February 7th).

Big Pun was a member of Fat Joe’s legendary Terror Squad, which at one point, featured members like  Cool & Dre, DJ Khaled, Armageddon, Cuban Link, Remy Ma, Triple Seis, Tony Sunshine and others.

Big Pun, born Christopher Rios, died February 7th 2000 of a heart attack brought on by excessive weight. Pun suffered from a heart attack while staying at a Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains New York.

Paramedics could not revive the rapper, who was up to 698 pounds.

Queens rapper Noreaga revealed that Big Pun was his first close friend in the music industry.

“Pun was my 1st friend in Hiphop,” Noreaga tweeted. “[The] 1st industry dude I trusted and hung out wit and he turned into being my brother.”

Estranged Terror Squad member Cuban link also gave a shout out to Pun.

“Repping my brother Big Pun that’s love miss u twin,” Cuban Link tweeted to Cipha Sounds, who paid tribute to Big Pun during his popular morning show on Hot 97 with Peter Rosenberg and K. Foxx.

Jadakiss also wet his fans’ appetite when he revealed that an unreleased battle between himself and Big Pun existed.

“Green lantern has a friendly battle wit me and Pun that never got released!” Jadakiss tweeted.
