Washington Wizards center Jason Collins has revealed he’s gay, which makes him the first major active American male pro athlete to come out of the closet. The B-Ball player stated “I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay”, in a recent Sports illustrated article. he also stated that he is happy he can stop hiding now and focus on his 13th NBA season. He has been playing in the NBA since 2001.The question now is….What does this do for other black athletes who are hiding their sexuality for fear of being rejected in some way.
