The University of Texas has invested in some amazing talent early as they have unofficially recruited a middle school basketball player!

The school extended an unofficial offer Deja Kelly, 13, on October 18; this means that she’ll get to continue a family tradition as her own father played guard for the Longhorns from 1999 to 2001.

“It was my dream school because my dad went there,” Deja told the “San Antonio Express-News” recently. “I’ve been putting in the work.”

Even though Deja will be attending his alma mater, her father would have liked for her to hold off on a making a decision so soon, UptownMagazine.com reports. He should be able to rest easy knowing that Deja can still change her mind since her offer is non-binding, and she can’t actually sign an offer letter until she’s ready to enter college in 2019.
