On Friday, nearly 1,000 students were absent from class due to the suspected cases of the norovirus in Person county.
On Saturday, School officials said that the buildings had to undergoing cleaning to decontaminate the surfaces to stop the further spread of germs.
Today, cautious parents are sending their kids back to school but officials warn people that hand washing is key in prevention and anyone who has the virus should stay home 48 hours after symptoms disappear.
