Plastic surgery and implants have become very common in our culture and especially within the entertainment industry. Over the years we have seen many of our favorite entertainers like Nicki Minaj, Wendy Williams, Lil Kim and Kourtney Kardashian undergo and discuss receiving implants and how they have affected their lives. However, K Michelle recently shined a whole new light on the topic and has created a conversation that may just alter the perceptions many women and young girls have on their bodies!

K Michelle recently sat down with the ladies of The Real to discuss why she decided to get her butt implants what is causing her to now want them to be removed. On the talk show, she expressed that she had always had a curvy appearance, however, she desired a “huge butt.” She said, “I thought, I want to take it to the extreme. I’m having trouble with men right now, maybe if I had a huge butt I’ll get even bigger love.”

The singer has also had work done on her teeth and hips, but says that her butt has now caused her to have health complications. She disclosed that has been experiencing severe aches and pains that she thought were being caused by Lupus. However, during a check for the disease, doctors found that the origin of the pain was her “huge butt.” She tells the ladies on the show, “we discovered that my butt is so big and my legs are not holding it.” She explains that her condition is so bad that doctors have turned down performing the removal of her implants!

K Michelle’s experience with her implants is one that we rarely hear about in celebrity news! She even says on the show, “People don’t talk about that, though.” “Imagine if you don’t have the money to get it out,” she continued. “You got these butt shots and you’re in pain, but you don’t have the money to get it out of you. They don’t tell you about that.”Which is definitely facts, but her story is starting to change the narrative being told to millions of women who have only been exposed to the glamour of plastic surgery and body alterations.

Her story is one that is  not only causing women to discuss the health concerns that can come with implants, but she is inspiring women to look deeper into the reasons they desire to get implants in the first place. K Michelle’s story is a prime example of how self-esteem can play a big part in women’s actions when it come to their bodies and image.

K Michelle was brave enough to use her platform and have this open discussion while promoting her recently released album, Kimberly: The People I Used To Know. She announced that she plans to have her butt, that she commonly refers to as “Betsy,”  removed on January 12th, 2018.
