This weekend I got to experience SXSW for the first time, with my assistant Bernie, and Live Squad let me tell you, it was AMAZING! We got the chance to meet up with some really dope artists, see great live performances, and of course we ran into some really cool celebrities. And now I’m going to share all of the excitement with you all!
So SXSW is a festival that has been around for about 30 years, and continues to serve as a meetup for creatives of all genres to showcase their work and talents while networking with an array of people in the entertainment industry. Stages are literally set up in every venue and the streets are filled with artists promoting their brands and music.

We got the chance to catch up with some artists that we know you all are going to love! First we had a chat with Dub Dueci, who drove over 20 hours just to get a piece of the action. We later met up with him at his Battle For The Throne performance. While we were there we ran into Sway and had the honor of chilling with him, while he was presented with an award for the major contributions he has made to music and the industry.
Afterward we stopped by the My Mixtapes showcase and caught a performance my Jack Harlow, who’s performance definitely got our seal of approval. And did I mention the event was hosted by the one and only DJ Drama! That’s right, after the showcase we got a chance to hang out with him and some other dope musicians like Tokyo Jets!
The next day we started of the day with the D1 entertainment crew and got some exclusive interviews with two of their top artists Izzy and Young Crazy, where they talked about living in the DMV area, girls, and their plans for their music. We also met their producer Pyrex, who has worked with some of our favorite major artists. Then we headed over to hang out with Jack Thriller at his showcase where we caught a performance by Houston legend Trae Tha Truth.
Oh, we didn’t just get exclusive music details though. We got some exclusive details on Tyler Perry’s new movie starring Taraji P.Henson, called Acrimony. We also stopped by Shae Moisture’s event where there panel of established black women dropped jewels on the crowd and you know we racked up on the free products! Did I mention we ran into Madea? Well not the really, but she was close enough!
But guess what Live Squad, there’s more coming your way! Just stay tuned for the full interviews and behind the scene footage coming your way!
