The Charlotte Hornets have hired James Borrego as their next head coach. Borrego, 40, has spent the last three seasons as an assistant with the Spurs. He has been an NBA assistant for the last 15 seasons and spent a total of ten seasons working under Gregg Popovich over two stints.
