Former Rikers guard Amelia Negron says she was fired after she was accused of trying to sneak a peak at Lil Wayne, who is currently serving time at the facility. Now when they say sneak a peak do they mean in general or during the shower hour? That’s a detail that could make all the difference here.
In response to Ms. Negron’s dismissle she is preparing a federal suit against New York City because she claims she was forced to confess trying to gawk at Wayne, according to the New York Daily News. Negron says that Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association President Norman Seabrook said he’d take care of the matter if she admitted to trying to see Wayne. The correction officer is now denying such claims.
“I don’t even like rap,” explained Negron, 33. “I like rock and alternative music and didn’t know much about him when they said I tried to see him. None of it’s true.” The door to the area was unlocked, and so I went in to say hello, and that officer said, ‘Hey, you can’t be here. We’ve got a celeb here.’ I said, ‘Okay, no problem,’ turned around and left,” she continued.
The lesson here is that being star struck can land you quick out of luck.
