July 4th weekend is quickly approaching and there are many events going on the celebrate across the Triangle (Raleigh/ Durham/ Chapel Hill), and places to see fireworks!
Take a look at a list of events we’ve compiled to celebrate Independence Day!
Wednesday
Durham Bulls Postgame Fireworks (DBAP, 409 Blackwell Street, Durham)
Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Morrisville and Wake Forest all feature fireworks displays.
Thursday
City of Raleigh July 4 Fireworks (1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) – The fireworks are set to launch at 9:30 p.m. PNC Arena, Carter-Finley Stadium, and the North Carolina State Fairgrounds are in the vicinity of the fireworks display.
July 4th Celebration (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway) – Before the fireworks show, enjoy rides and games, magicians and performances, ice-cream eating contests, and, back by popular demand, a 50-foot Ferris Wheel.
Friday
Movies by Moonlight (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway) – Tonight’s screening is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Adult tickets are $5, and kids under 12 are free. Proceeds benefit WakeMed.
Fridays on the Front Porch (The Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill) – Sip on crafted cocktails while listening to live music and enjoying featured food trucks at Carolina Inn on Friday night.
First Friday (downtown Raleigh) – Head downtown the first Friday of every month to celebrate local art and exhibits the area has to offer. Many galleries stay open late, until 9 p.m., for special events, and many restaurants and shops serve up deals.
