Grammy nominated NC femcee, Rapsody, has announced that she will be dropping a new album titled, Eve, this August. The Jamla rapper’s last release, Laila’s Wisdom, dropped in 2017, and was met with critical acclaim and multiple Grammy nominations.

This will be Rapsody’s second project under the Jamla/ Roc Nation umbrella, and will act as a tribute to Black Girl Magic, honoring black women who have inspired and influenced her.

Rap told Essence of the project, “It’s my ode to the women in my life who have made me who I am, but at the same time I realize it’s bigger than me. It’s more about the village of Black women. I feel like we all have similar experiences and similar stories and very similar inspirations. My last album, that was for me. That was all personal things that, you know, you can listen to and maybe you can relate, but a lot of it was for me.”

The song titles on the album will be of notable black women including, including Nina Simone, Oprah Winfrey, Aaliyah and Whoopi Goldberg. Features on Eve include D’angelo and Queen Latifah. Look for Eve to arrive this August, and in the meantime, peep the teaser clip below.
