Durham police have closed several streets and evacuated houses after a World War II mortar was found at 3525 Mossdale Ave. this morning.
Streets are blocked at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Old Chapel Hill Road and MLK and Dixon Road.
A gardener raking a homeowner’s lawn found the mortar around 7 a.m., police said. No other details were available.
