Hurricane Igor has swelled into a major Category 5-hurricane. It has maximum winds near 150 mph. Its still too early to predict its paths but officials think it’ll stay off shore.
Behind Igor is Tropical Storm Julia, It has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Julia is about 30 miles south-southwest of the southernmost islands. Officials have issued a tropical storm warning for parts of the Cape Verde Islands, including Maio, Sao Tiago, Fogo and Brava.
