Invincible Iron Man

It looks like Marvel has put a little spin on things. They have announced that a 15 year old black girl, name Riri Williams, will be a new cast member to the series.

According to Time, the series “Civil War II” will pick up in the upcoming series of “Invincible Iron Man” with Williams being the next to take the suit once Tony Stark puts his suit down.

The inspiration came from Iron Man writer, Brian Michael Bendis, while he took a trip to Chicago where he did some work.

He said, “One of the things that stuck with me when I was working in Chicago a couple of years ago on a TV show that didn’t end up airing was the amount of chaos and violence.” He continued, “And this story of this brilliant, young woman whose life was marred by tragedy that could have easily ended her life—just random street violence—and went off to college was very inspiring to me.”

Williams is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and reversed the iron man suit in her dorm room.

Bendis said that the recent diversity within Marvel has everything to do with the world we live in and what surrounds us. He also says past creators admitted that they wished they were more diverse but said that it just wasn’t right for the world they were living in at the time.

Bendis said that he does admit that there might be a time when Stark and Williams come together after finding out she was flying in his suit.

Details on the release of this new Iron MAn series have yet to be released however if it is turned into a film it will be nothing short of amazing.
