Beyonce Being Sued For “Lemonade” & Called Out For Using “Racecard”

Beyonce is back in the headlines. This time it’s another lawsuit alleging she stole her whole “Lemonade” short film concept from Matthew Fulks‘ “Palinoia” short film. Earlier this year the filmmaker filed a lawsuit against Bey claiming that his work and Beyonce’s “Lemonade” were the exact same. According to the Jasmine Brand:

Fulks said a Senior VP at Beyonce’s label, Columbia Music, saw his short film back in 2015 and clearly the exec stole his idea and handed it off to Beyonce for “Lemonade” which began production months after his was released.

He filed suit demanding Beyonce and her label pay up a cut of the profits from “Lemonade”

Beyonce fired back explaining her trailer was about a proud African American woman and not about a depressed white guy like Fulk’s short film.

Fulks, in return, blasted Beyonce (and her team) for trying to use the “race card”. Fulks has said that “that her argument about race – his film being about a white male and hers being about a African American woman – are irrelevant and absurd” according to TheJasmineBrand.
