The Carolina Panthers announced, Friday evening, that they were officially launching an investigation into owner, Jerry Richardson, for workplace misconduct. Although the team did not give information on the allegations, they did release who will be responsible for the investigation and it has some people upset!

According to the team, an outside law firm will conduct the investigation, however it will be overseen by former White House Chief of Staff, Erskine Bowles. Bowles is also a minority owner of the team. So, this pretty much means the Jerry Richardson will be investigated by a fellow owner.

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report reported that “there are more than a few teams wondering why the Panthers are allowed to investigate themselves.” He even says, “One GM called it ‘a total scam.'”

The NFL hasn’t announced if it will launch a separate investigation. Brian McCarthy, NFL spokesperson told the Associated Press that the league doesn’t have a comment for the matter as of right now. You know we will keep you updated though, Live Squad!
