The city of Los Angeles honored former President #BarackObama with a newly named street called “Obama Boulevard”. The #ObamaBoulevard will be almost 4 miles long and in the Crenshaw neighborhood.

Sources say that the location of the street is very ‘significant’ because this street happens to be where the former president held his first campaign rally in 2007. The street that is now ‘Obama Boulevard’ was also known as ‘Rodeo Road’. People gathered together this weekend to celebrate the newly named location.

The City Council provided a statement saying that “With this change, we are publicly documenting what Obama’s legacy as our nation’s first black President means to our city and our South Los Angeles community”. This is amazing and makes history because it is along the lines of intersecting with other streets named after former presidents including Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.
