A heat advisory is in effect for much of central North Carolina, where forecasters say temperatures in the upper 90s will combine with high humidity to make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees…
The heat index is only going to climb this week. The National Weather Service predicts by Friday it will feel hotter than 110 degrees in Raleigh and 107 or above in Greensboro and Charlotte.
The extreme heat is expected to last through the upcoming week with some relief possible by next week
