Have you been keeping up with the Raleigh School Board Elections? Well, if you haven’t the NAACP certainly has, and the organizations president feels like they were a success and a big step toward progress.
The Rev. William Barber, who is the state NAACP president was happy that four of the school board seats were won by Democrats with a fifth seat to be decided by a run off election on November 8th.
The NAACP headed by Barber was responsible for the federal investigation of Wake’s elimination of the diversity policy.
Barber said in a statement that “children of all colors, we pray, can once again feel welcome in their schools and at their school board.”
